Deploy the Brave Extension on Windows

How to Deploy:

To ensure a seamless deployment of Avanoo's Brave extension, follow the guidelines as advised by Google.

The process involves utilizing the ExtensionInstallForcelist ExtensionSettings policies, which automatically downloads and installs the specified extension for Brave users in your organization and pin it to the browser.

Be careful, if you already have some extension installed, please be aware that this will replace your configuration. Please insert the key after your current installation, or use Google Workspace deployment.

Deploy:

To install the Avanoo Brave extension on devices running Windows:

Add the following key to the Windows registry (it should be under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\BraveSoftware\Brave\ExtensionInstallForcelist):

• Name: 1 (or any number if you already have a policy)

• Data: (the data communicated in the deployment email, usually something like XXXXXXXXX;https://agent.avanoo.ai/self-hosting/update?browser=chromium&api-key=YYYYY)

Add the following key to the Windows registry (it should be under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\BraveSoftware\Brave\ExtensionSettings):

• Name: brave_extension_id

• Data: {"toolbar_pin":"override_update_url":true}

Verification

You can inspect and debug the policy on "brave://policy":
